Maria Rivera Perez, a resident of Allen, Texas, passed away June 24, 2026 at the age of 93. She was born on April 15, 1933, in Mexico, to her loving parents, Jose Rivera and Felicita (Barron) Rivera.
As a young girl, Maria met the love of her life, Librado Perez. Their love story led to a lifelong partnership, and they were united in marriage on September 27, 1952, in Lubbock, Texas. Together, they built a loving home centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.
A dedicated homemaker, Maria found her greatest joy in caring for her family. As the proud mother of nine children, she devoted her life to nurturing and supporting those she loved. Her home was always open, and she played an active role in the lives of her grandchildren, lovingly raising four of them and providing care for many of her other grandchildren after school and during the summer months. Her unwavering love, guidance, and generosity left a lasting impact on generations of her family.
Maria was also known as an exceptional cook. Family gatherings were made special by the delicious meals she prepared, and sharing food was one of the many ways she expressed her love. Whether preparing a favorite family recipe or welcoming loved ones around her table, she created countless cherished memories.
A woman of deep faith, Maria was of the Roman Catholic faith. Her faith served as a guiding force throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, compassion, and selflessness she showed to others.
Maria will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to family, and the countless lives she touched through her care and devotion. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Maria is survived by her loving children, Delia Liscano (Joe) of Allen, Texas, Jimmy Perez (Diana), Irene Medders, and Lee Perez all of Prosper, Texas, Celia P. Duran of Royce City, Texas, Ricky Perez (Terry) of Fort Worth, Texas, Linda Anzualda (Efrain) of Prosper, Texas, and Roy Perez, also of Prosper, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends, who will miss her and fondly cherish her memory.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Felicita Rivera; beloved husband, Librado Perez; son, Rene Perez, grandson, David Liscano, and grandson Eric Perez.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013, with Rosary Service beginning at 9:30 AM. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
