Maria Christina Immel of McKinney, Texas passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born on February 9, 1945, in Vienna, Austria. Maria brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. Maria was a proud graduate of Jamaica High School and attended Columbia University thereafter. She was both a Polyglot, speaking four languages and was also lifelong learner, who had a voracious appetite for reading. Maria married Howard Immel on December 12, 1970 in Queens, New York. She spent her career as an insurance adjuster, a role she approached with dedication and compassion. But her most cherished roles were those of wife, mother, and grandmother.
Maria is survived by her devoted husband, Howard Immel; her sons, Jeff Immel and his wife Carmen, and Eric Immel and his wife Diana; and her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Immel, Eric Immel, and Sean Immel. Maria’s spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, who will forever hold her memory dear.
Maria was preceded in death by parents, Mike Yahovlevich and Mae Yakovlevich.
The family will receive friends to come together to honor Maria’s memory and celebrate the beautiful life she lived during a visitation on Friday afternoon, December 5, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
