IN LOVING MEMORY

Maria Ayestas

Jan 28 1962 - Jan 22 2023

Maria Isabel Ayestas, at the age of 60, has joined our Heavenly Father and reunited with her mother and loved ones. She has, once again, united us all on her birthday, January 28th, to celebrate her life. Maria was raised by Antonio Mayorquin and Mercedes Garcia Mayorquin of Honduras. In 1985, Maria moved to Los Angeles, California where she reunited with a childhood friend from Honduras, Javier R. Ayestas and married in 1986. Maria and Javier grew their family with Loren, Christopher, Gabriella, Luis and Ahmed.

Maria’s best trait was her undying love for her family. Nothing made Maria happier than being a mother and taking care of her family. She made sure her children took the right path by being stern, but always had open arms when they needed her. She always wanted to provide a place of love and safety for her loved ones.

Her love was expressed and shown in many ways especially in her cooking. Maria was a master in the kitchen, from her famous gumbo soup to sopa de albonbiga or pasta de pollo! Everyone adored her cooking and looked forward to it. Maria loved gathering with her family and having a good time dancing, singing and laughing.

Maria had a servant’s heart which showed in how she cared for anyone in need. You could always count on her to be there when you needed her. She was an amazing person and we all know God has a special place for her.

Maria is survived by her husband, Javier R. Ayestas of Rowlett, Texas; daughter, Loren Sofia Mayorquin of Rowlett, Texas; son, Christopher Jason Ayestas of Rowlett, Texas; daughter, Gabriella Tonne and husband, Jonathan Grant Tonne of Garland, Texas; son, Luis Edgardo Ayestas and wife, Kelle Story of Wylie, Texas; son, Ahmed Mousa of Rowlett, Texas; son, Almahdi Mousa of Virginia; grandchildren, Elias Ayestas, Zaine Ayestas, and Arlow Ayestas of Wylie, Texas; and her loving family and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
