Maria Amalia Weddle

August 30, 1946 - November 30, 2018

Maria Amalia Weddle of McKinney, Texas passed away November 30, 2018 at the age of 72.  She was born on August 30, 1946 to Lucas Moncada, M.D. and Elvira Maria Hurst in Honduras where she was raised.  May majored in accounting at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She retired in 2013 after working 15 years as a functional academics teacher for McKinney Independent School District.  May loved dancing, attending political and religious functions, and most of all spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jose Weddle of McKinney, Texas; children, Maurice “Ace” Weddle , Derek Weddle, Lester Weddle and wife, Diona, Peggy Ann Weddle, and Stephanie  Weddle, all of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Alexa Weddle, Nicholas Weddle, Isabella Weddle, Landon Weddle, Seth Aaron and Miriah Aaron; great-grandson, Keagan Cooksey; brothers and sisters, Lorena Moncada, Maria Moret, Stanley Morlier, Lisbeth Jackson and Landon Moncada; and a host of other loving family and friends.

May was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lucas Moncada and Elvira Hurst and brother, Greg Moncada.

A memorial mass will be held at 1:30 pm., Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1515 North Greenville, Allen, Texas 75002. 

A celebration of life service will be held  at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Genesis Church, 5780 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071.
