Margie Eva (Carter) Norman of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 21, 2018 at the age of 94. She was born on June 3, 1924 to Walter Edward and Eva Jane (Brown) Carter in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. Margie married James Harold Norman on December 8, 1943 in Littleton, Colorado. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. Margie worked as a secretary in the English department at SMU. She went on to help with the family business as the Co-owner and Vice President of Personnel Research Associates, “PRA”. Margie retired as the Executive Administrator for Casady Private School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Margie is survived by her son, David Norman of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Pam Kennedy and husband, Tom of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Christi, Jami, Philip Devin, Amy, Brooke, Bill, Andrew and Kaitlin ”KK”; great-grandchildren, Michael, Cody, Kaleigh, Gideon, JoAnna and William; great-great-granddaughter, Addison; sister, Marylyn Carter Anderson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law, Ray Snyder of Alamosa, Colorado and Roy Cribbs of Mustang, Oklahoma; and many beloved nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 67 years, James “Jim” Harold Norman; son, James H. Norman, Jr. “Slugger”; and siblings, Emily Odessa Turner, Gearld Lavere Carter, Walter Edward Carter, Jr., Sterline Joyner, Fabrice Yudora Cribbs; Precious Prudence Snyder and Franklin Delano Carter.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 315 N. Church Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
