Margie Simmons Dunn, age 81, of Allen, Texas passed away January 23, 2013. She was born August 3, 1931 in Mount Vernon, Texas to Thomas Luther Simmons and Flossie Simmons. On September 10, 1948 she married Charles Donald Dunn in Dallas, Texas. Margie was one of nine children. She modeled for the Adolphus Hotel and The Lester Melnick Women’s Store. Margie was a charter member of Casa View Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, ceramics and baking. Margie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Charles Kennedy Dunn and wife, Robin of Quinlan, Texas; daughters, Donna Massey and husband, Wayne of McKinney, Texas, Jeannie Williams and husband, Larry of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Dudley, Ashley Dudley, Christian Williams, Jenna Freeman and Charles Christopher Dunn; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family, friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Flossie Simmons and her husband, Charles Dunn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Randy Marshall officiating.
Interment will follow at Altoga Cemetery, Altoga, Texas.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
