Margie A. Loftice, 92, of North Richland Hills, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2023. Margie was a beloved mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. Regardless of how you knew her, she was simply “Nanny”. A “Nanny” who loved without question and brought laughter and comfort to those in need. Margie completed the 8th grade but could have easily written a dissertation on life. Growing up during the Great Depression and World War II, her life, and the hardships of the day, were her education.
Margie was born at home in Celina Texas on November 27, 1930. She and her husband, Loran Dwight Loftice, met in Celina Texas. Dwight was a standout athlete and served in the Army during World War II. They were married in Sherman Texas in 1946. Together they had five children. The legacy of their union includes 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Margie worked in manufacturing in her early life and then as a medical aid for several years. She enjoyed all genres of music, reading and gardening. Mom’s favorite bands were Creedence Clearwater Revival and the Eagles. Two years ago, at 90, she was thrilled to see the Eagles live in Dallas. Widely known as a voracious bargain hunter, her love of shopping was only surpassed by the love of her grandchildren. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with them.
Margie is survived by children, Ricky Loftice of Independence, Missouri, David Loftice and his fiancé, Deanna Herrick of Friendswood, Texas, Vickie Loftice and her partner Shelly Lanners of North Richland Hills, Texas, Teresa Carr and her husband, Cliff Carr of Granbury, Texas; brother Mike Cleburn of Lake Dallas; her eleven grandchildren, Jimmy Burgan and his fiancé Jackie Martinez, Shane Loftice, Tonya Loftice, Jennifer Burgan Amoroso and her husband, Joe, Heather Loftice and her husband, Richard Brown, Tiffany Thomas and her husband, Chris, Tina Caraway, Tabetha Carr Seay, Kimberly Thompson and her husband, Patrick, Ashley Brady and her husband, Arthur, Britany Jones and her husband, Dwayne; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
