Margaret Jane Lawson

Margaret Jane (Hibdon) Lawson of McKinney, Texas passed away on August 29, 2021 at the age of 83. She was born on June 28, 1938 to Fred Hibdon and Dorothy (Cross) Hibdon in Denison, Texas. She married George Elmer Lawson on October 5, 1957 in McKinney, Texas. Margaret retired from Caldwell Middle School where she worked for 18 years.  She had a passion for gardening and loved spending time at the Dallas Arboretum.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Billy Lawson and wife, Terri of Greenville, Texas, Danny Lawson and wife, Pam of McKinney, Texas, Randy Lawson and wife, Mary of Desert, Texas, and Charles Lawson of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Kay Stevens and husband, James of Princeton, Texas; brothers, Earnest Hibdon and wife Nora of McKinney, Texas,  David Hibdon, and wife Peggy of Anna, Texas, Dickie Hibdon of Durant, OK, Ronnie Hibdon of Anna, Texas; sisters, Nancy (Davis) Kiker, and husband Ben of Quitman, Texas, Sandra Westdyke, and husband Johnny of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Lawson, Jenny Lewis, Kristi Alexander, Tyler Cheney, Charles Lawson Jr., Kayla Foster, Danny Busby II, J.D. Stevens, Ryan Stevens; 12 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Hibdon; husband, George Lawson; brother, Donald Hibdon; and sister, Linda Morton. 

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening, September 1, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greogry Voss officiating. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Margaret’s obituary page by clicking the following link:
