Margaret Sides of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on March 5, 2020 at the age of 78 bravely battling several illnesses. Margaret was born on October 23, 1941 to Lawrence Smithey and Myrtle Brandt in Gainesville, Texas. She loved her family deeply and talked about them often. She told stories of all the moments they spent together, fondly remembering small details with great joy. Each family member was cherished and loved; She will miss you all.
Who was Margaret? A lover of people. It is evident that she has touched many lives, or you would not be here to celebrate her life today. Margaret loved people and worked hard to stay connected to them. In her almost 40 years as a Real Estate Broker she touched many lives.
She was involved in and was accomplished in the community she served in many organizations, committees, ministries listed: the freshman salutatorian at Gainesville Junior High, Valedictorian at Gainesville High school class of 1960-61. Fort Worth Citizens Against Crime, Everman ISD sponsor, long-time Pee Wee sports sponsor, City of Everman economic development corporation, Chairman of Neighborhood Oil and Gas Negotiating Committee, Teen Life Advocate involved in bible study fellowship, member of the bus ministry and single’s ministry member of Texas Real Estate commission, member of Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Commissions, The Fort Worth Board of Realtors, and National Association of Realtors.
She was a part of many churches but most recently member of Freedom Church, Her churches included: Retta Baptist Church and Royal Oaks Church. She was a member of several prayer groups.
She is survived by her Husband Clint Honeycutt of Fort Worth, Texas. Her Son, Randy Sides and wife Lisa, Step Son, Russell Honeycutt and step- daughter in law, Christie, and her brother Jimmy Smithey and wife Jane. Grandchildren, Ashten Sides, John Wyatt Sides, Justin Sides and wife Victoria, Clay Honeycutt and wife Shelby and Hunter Honeycutt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Smithey and Myrtle Brandt, first husband Bobby Sides, Mother-in-law, Esther, and son Mark Sides.
Margaret’s burial will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Climax, Texas at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, March 6, 2020.
A Celebration of Life will be the following day at 5:00 P.M. at Freedom Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
She loved connecting people to Jesus, and never lost sight of that.
