Margaret Rita Ringhofer

Margaret Rita (“Rita”) Ringhofer, age 96, Frisco, Texas passed away on November 13, 2020 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born on May 26, 1924 to Florence May (Power) and Alexander Robertson in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. 

Rita served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1942 to 1944. 

Rita married John (“Jack”) Logue in August 1954; they were married until his death in 1962. On January 4, 1964 Rita married John F. Ringhofer in Chicago, Illinois; they were married until his death in July 2002. 

A thirty-eight year resident of Wood Dale, Illinois, she ran as a candidate for DuPage County Clerk in 1989 and DuPage County Board in 1990. 

Rita moved to Frisco, Texas in January 2007 and was a parishioner at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. 

Rita is survived by her three children, John Ringhofer and his wife, Ana of Frisco, Texas, Justine Hewerdine of Orange Park, Florida and Frank Ringhofer and his partner Patrick Cerceo of Chicago, Illinois: her six grandchildren, William J. Ringhofer, Joanna S. Ringhofer, Evelyn A. Ringhofer, Helene Hewerdine, Grace Hewerdine and Bradley Hewerdine. 

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Ringhofer, her parents, and nine siblings. 

Family and friends are invited to a “come and go” Visitation on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033 from 6 PM to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 3990 W. University Drive, Prosper, Texas 75078, on Saturday, November 21, 2020 beginning at 12:30 PM with Rev. Stephen Hauck presiding. A committal service will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 10 AM.
