Margaret Lorena Gowan, age 86, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2017. She was born March 9, 1930, in Corsicana, Texas, to George Henry Biddy, Jr. and Addie Georgia Lorena (Johnson) Biddy. Margaret grew up in Corsicana, where she later met the love of her life, David Earl Gowan. They were married in 1947. The family moved to Odessa and lived there until David passed away in 1985. Margaret moved to Allen to be close to her son George. She worked for EDS where she retired. Margaret moved to McKinney in 1995. She last resided at Mustang Creek Assisted Living Center in Allen. Margaret loved to sew and quilt, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in McKinney.
She is survived by her sons, George Gowan of McKinney, Texas, Joe Gowan and wife Susan of Round Top, Texas and Charles Gowan of Corsicana, Texas; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Francis H. Biddy; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, George Henry Biddy, Jr. and Addie Georgia Lorena Biddy; husband, David Earl Gowan; and son, Steve Gowan.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
