Margaret LaVerne Hesser

Margaret LaVerne Hesser of Parker, Texas passed away January 18, 2018 at the age of 97.  She was born July 28, 1920 to Matt Lipps and Ruth Elizabeth (Thompson) Lipps in Newcastle, Texas.  LaVerne was raised in Bridgeport, Texas.  She married Clyde Allen Hesser on June 5, 1943 in Paris, Arkansas. They would have been married seventy-five years this year.  LaVerne was a switchboard operator for Collin Memorial Hospital in McKinney for twenty years. She retired from the Plano Police Department in 1979 after working there for five years.  LaVerne loved her sunday school class The Wild Bunch at Friendship Baptist Church in Fairview, Texas. She loved her Lord. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

LaVerne is  survived by her daughter, Janice Russell and husband, Rick, of Parker; son, Jim Hesser of Pottsboro, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy Hesser Engleman, Courtney Bruce and husband, Jeremy, Benji Russell and wife, Stacey, and Dusty Russell; great-grandchildren, Michael Bruce, Mason Russell, and Stella Grace Russell; loving nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Allen Hesser (January 13,2018); parents, siblings, Ted, Bill, Leo Lipps, Nell Mattox, James Lipps, and Densa Lipps.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church, 270 Country Club Road, Fairview, Texas 75069 with Rev. Roland Burnett officiating. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church.
