Margaret Francis Carpenter

Mar 18 1933 - Aug 11 2021

Margaret Francis Carpenter, age 88, passed away August 11, 2021 at Meadowbrook Care Center in Van Alstyne.  She was born to J.R. and Eulla Dillard March 18, 1933 in Leonard.

There will be a graveside service, Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Arledge Ridge Cemetery on Hwy 78 just south of Bonham.  There will not be a formal visitation, but please feel free to come sign the register book at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard.  The family requests that everyone wear a mask at the graveside service.

Margaret grew up in Leonard and graduated from Leonard High School.  She attended First Baptist Church in Leonard but was a long time member of First Baptist Church in Bailey.  She married David Carpenter shortly after graduating. She worked for an art gallery in West Texas.  The last ten years of her work life, she was in sales for Southwestern Bell in Dallas.  She supported her husband in every way including helping him get a job with the Texas Liquor Control Board, which is now known as TABC.

She loved to travel.  All you had to say was, “Would you like …,” and she would say, “What do I need to pack?”  Margaret was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.  If the Cowboys were playing, she was watching them.

She is survived by her brother-in-law Don Carpenter and wife Shirley, niece Teresa McDaniels, nephew Rex Carpenter and wife Donna, great-nephews: Scott McDaniels and wife Jennifer, Eric McDaniels and wife Mandi, Craig Carpenter and wife Rebecca and Colin Carpenter and husband Etienne Kallos and great-great-nephews Logan McDaniels, Knox Carpenter, great -great-nieces Avery McDaniels and Colette Carpenter.  Her great-great nieces and nephews brought much joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
