Margaret Ellen (Newsom) Robinson, devoted wife, loving mother, and community pillar, completed a life well-lived on May 27, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born on January 11th, 1922 to Lee B. and Emma Freeman Newsom in Celina, Texas. Margaret married the love of her life, Russell Lewis Robinson on January 20th, 1942 in Celina. Together, they raised a family and enjoyed wonderful moments together travelling, fishing, and tending their family farm. Margaret was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Celina, and greatly respected by her fellow congregants. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and was a natural gardener, as was evident from her beautiful and flourishing home garden. She was active in the Celina Inter Se Club, as well as other service-related groups and activities.
Margaret is survived by her eldest son Tom Robinson and his wife Barbara of Alvord, Texas and her son Stephen Robinson and his wife Jacqueline of Celina; grandchildren, Seth Robinson and his wife Julie, Chad Robinson and his wife Michelle, Adam Robinson and his wife Kristy, Leigh Ann Jordan and her husband Michael, and Kyle Robinson and his wife Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Morgon Robinson, Macy Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Makenna Robinson, Riley Robinson, Charlie Robinson, Izzibelle Robinson, Wyatt Robinson, Hadley Robinson, Maverick Robinson and the soon-to-be born Madeline Jordan.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Robinson, two sisters, Doris Edmonds and Fern Bearden; one brother, Vance Newsom; and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at first United Methodist Church of Celina, 12465 FM428, Celina, TX 75009. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, June 1st, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at 1909 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina Texas 75009.
