IN LOVING MEMORY

Margaret Ann Lewis Marable

May 02 1942 - Sep 08 2023

Margaret Ann Lewis Marable was born May 2, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Tolliver Lewis and Annie Bell Lewis.   She was the second of six children.

She grew up in Dallas where she attended Booker T. Washington High School.  Upon finishing high school in 1960, she moved to Kansas where she attended the University of Kansas.   While attending the university, she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and later, became a Golden Life member.  In 1973, Margaret earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Margaret attended Munger Avenue Baptist Church with her family and met many of her lifelong friends at Munger Avenue.  One of her many joys was serving in the church choir.  Oh, the times we had, at midnight musicals, concerts and traveling to sing at other churches.   Margaret was also a business professional.   She had a 33-year career with the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1997.

After her girls moved out of the house, she moved from Dallas to Oklahoma with her job.  She finally settled back in Frisco, Texas in 2008.  In Frisco, Margaret found a church home she loved in Friendship Baptist Church of the Colony.  She enjoyed the Friendship Baptist Church (of the Colony) choir and especially enjoyed bible study with her Friendship church family.  She has been a friend, confidant, counselor, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and great grandmother.  Margaret loved singing, traveling, doing puzzles, shopping, and reading a great book.  She especially loved her family.

She leaves behind her two daughters: Karalynne Malone (Kawana), and Teresa White (James) and two grandchildren, James White, Jr. and Danielle White, Joseph Marable (formerly married 1994 for 25 years). Margaret also leaves behind a great grandson, Gabriel Ryan White, brothers Tolliver Lewis Jr. (Rose), Wassel Lewis (Carolyn), Ralph Lewis (Margaret), and sister Delores Jean Lewis.   Her younger brother Michael Lewis preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday afternoon at the funeral home.
