Marcus Wayne Cummins of Lewisville, Texas, left our world for a more beautiful place on Saturday evening, 31 October 2020 at the age of 50. He was born to 1st Lt Thomas Mathew and Merry Louise (Doellman) Cummins in Savannah, Georgia on 21 July 1970. He was the 2nd of an eventual four sons, later to become infamously known as the “M-Squad.” Marcus was a graduate of Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas. Soon after graduation, he attended the University of North Texas in Denton, where his personality and natural talents truly thrived. Marcus quickly became a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He loved his brothers and his campus, and totally engulfed the challenges in front of him as, within a year, Marcus was elected Inner-Fraternal Council President (IFC President), which is the highest office of all Fraternities and Sororities and the top Liaison between them, faculty and administration. In addition to these immense responsibilities, he continued an incredibly successful career he had started during high school as a true guru of the restaurant industry, mastering every facet of that trade while also earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television and Film, with a minor in Business.
It would be near impossible to explain the number of lives Marcus touched and influenced during his time on Earth.
Marcus is survived by his son, Cameron Cummins; brothers (the “M-Squad”), Mathew Lee, Michael Sean and Martin Kyle Cummins; “other brother”/roommate/close friend, Joel Sigler; aunts, Linda Bolser and Veronica Heathcock; cousins, Tina Bolser, Melissa (Bolser) Mancuso and husband, Tony, Michael Figuaroa, Robert Bolser and wife, Alicia, Leah (Bolser) Coronado and husband, Martin, and Jessy Cummins; second cousins, Taylor and Makenzie Mancuso and Brock Bolser; nieces and nephews, Tyler Martin, Corrinne Cummins, Alexis Cummins, and Aidan Cummins; and stepfather, Sean Heap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Cummins and Merry (Cummins) Heap.
