IN LOVING MEMORY

Marcus Jerod Wilson

Aug 29 1971 - Dec 06 2022

Marcus Jerod Wilson of Allen, Texas passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2022 at the age of 51. He was born on August 29, 1971 in Greenville, Texas. Marcus grew up in Commerce, Texas and was a graduate of Commerce High School. He attended Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas where he was an escort for the Trinity Valley Cardettes. From there he attended Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas and received his associates degree in broadcasting. When Marcus’ stepfather fell ill, he moved back to Commerce to support his family.

While living in Commerce, Marcus worked as a bartender/bar trainer for Red Lobster where he met his wife, Kathryn. He always said the first time he saw her, that is the kind of girl you marry and so he did. They had over 22 wonderful years together growing their family with the births of their three sons, Kamden, Myles and Konner. Marcus loved and supported his family in every way from extracurricular activities to school functions. He and the boys enjoyed many late nights together telling stories, secrets and jokes. He encouraged his sons to achieve many things and faithfully celebrated their accomplishments.

Marcus was a fan of any and every sport, but he was especially a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. He also had a passion for all types of music. His encyclopedic knowledge of both sports and music along with his inspiring and often hilarious insights on current events, relationships and life led to amazing conversations that all who loved him will look back on and cherish in his absence.

Marcus will always be remembered for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and how his unique and adored demeanor always brought fun and comfort to the room. He was the person his family and friends could turn to for advice or a shoulder to cry on if needed. Marcus was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.

Marcus is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn Wilson of Allen, Texas; sons, Kamden Wilson of Dallas, Texas, and Myles Wilson and Konner Wilson of Allen, Texas; sister, Lindsey Evans and partner Tera Evans of Greenville, Texas; nephews and niece, Landon Evans, Logan Evans and Mackenzie-Michelle Evans, also of Greenville, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Beverly and Steve Evans.
