In remembrance of a beautiful person, Marcia Sue Korstvedt, moved to the heavenly world on September 28, 2021. At her side were her two sons, Marc and KC, with loving attention and spiritual embrace. Marcia found joy in many facets of life and possessed a beautiful smile and a kind and gentle spirit.
Marcia was born to Ken and Avis Hamilton in May 1928 in North Platte, Nebraska, and had one brother, Wally. She married Jens Korstvedt in December 1950, and set up residence in Denver, Colorado. She had three grandchildren, Erik, Meghan, and Skylar. And three great grandchildren, Cole, Abby, and Kade.
She loved raising a family and participated in the successes and learnings that her children would share with her. She was a meticulous seamstress, making her own blouses, pants, dresses, and various other items for her children and grandchildren. She made Halloween costumes for the grandchildren and stunning velvet dresses for her granddaughter.
Growing up in North Platte she had many acquaintances that became life-long friends. She participated in the high school band playing the flute in the wind section, and, enjoyed playing the family home piano for daily recreation.
She enjoyed being outside on her home patio and afternoon picnics with her young children in neighborhood parks. The family would often visit the near-by city of Estes Park, Colorado as a favorite mountain retreat.
In 1999 she organized a family historical vacation to the Korstvedt heritage in southern Norway. The unprecedented journey took the nine family members to meet never seen family descendants and local Norwegian friends. A trip of a life time was had by all.
Marcia was a skilled cryptogram enthusiast and, as of late, actively participated in the game "Community Train" (a variation of Dominos) and bingo games with an understated winning streak. In the fall she enjoyed NFL football and would cheer for the local teams.
Marcia was intensely loved by her family and friends and will be missed and mentioned in daily prayer for evermore.
A private memorial service is planned for the near future.
