Marcelline E. Mershon, 93, of McKinney, TX passed away Tuesday May 3, 2016. She was born July 5, 1922 in Battle Creek, Iowa, and was the daughter of Arthur Henry Jungferman and Ella Gruenau Jungferman. Marcie was a long time resident of Cedar Falls, IA. She also lived for a number of years in Oklahoma City, OK and Germantown, TN while her husband taught oral diagnosis at the University of Oklahoma and University of Tennessee dental schools. In 1984 she and her husband of 43 years retired to their new home in Bella Vista, AR. In 2007 she moved to Concordia Senior Living until 2015. With a desire to be closer to family she moved to the Village of Stonebridge Assisted Living Center in McKinney, TX. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, she taught business education and was active in social activities in Cedar Falls. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista as well as actively engaged in bridge, golf, and reading.
Marcelline is survived by her sister, Ardis Johnson of Red Oak, IA; daughter, Suzanne M. Bell and husband Daniel of Allen, TX; and son, Jon E. Mershon and wife Tammy Jo of Searcy, AR.; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard L. Mershon in 1987; one daughter, Rhea L Diesburg in 2015; her parents; and four sisters.
A graveside service will be held in June where she will be inurned in the columbarium next to her beloved husband at the Bella Vista Cemetery in Bella Vista, AR.
