Madalynne Doyle passed away January 19, 2019 in Plano,Tx.at the age of 97. She is survived by two daughters, Frances Payne of Dallas and Cathy DuPre (and husband Charles) of Knoxville, TN, and son-in-law George Grieb of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by husband Joe Doyle, daughter Sherry Grieb, mother Grace Curington, father Burl Curington, and sister Louise Curington.
A graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, she married Joe Doyle in 1943. She briefly taught elementary school but spent most of her life as a homemaker. They made their home and life farming in Nevada, Copeville and Farmersville. After Joe's passing in 1987, Madalynne remained in their home outside Farmersville until 1992 when she moved to the continuing care community of Christian Care Center in Mesquite.
A faithful member of the Church of Christ, she volunteered for many church activities as well as school events for her daughters. She loved gardening and cooking. A child of the Depression, she was quite resourceful and creative. During her long life, she enjoyed a variety of experiences, including oil and watercolor painting as well as traveling in North America and Europe. At age 71 she started a new and active chapter in life when she moved to Christian Care Center. She lived in her own independent apartment for twenty four years and drove until age 90. She happily shared her final years with Lola, a beautiful calico cat.
Visitation will be Friday, January 25 at 10 am at Hurst's Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville. A graveside service will be at Farmersville’s IOOF Cemetery Friday, January 25 at 11 am.
