Mable Lois Adair Vestal was born March 24, 1937, in Cedar Hill, Texas, to Dudley Lois and Mona Lee Adair. She married Arvin Vestal on August 6, 1956, in Covington, Indiana. She died Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at her residence in Whitewright, Texas at the age of 86.
Mable was a loving wife, mother, Mere’, sister, friend, and teacher. She served others in so many ways. A true people person, Mable had many friendships over her lifetime. Her backdoor was always open and coffee ready. Children were always a part of her life. She taught at Trenton Elementary for 10 years and influenced so many inside and outside of a classroom. Running a home and raising her girls came naturally for her. She continued as a grandmother, and then as a great grandmother caring for everyone. Mable was a long time member of the Whitewright Church of Christ. She was involved in church activities, community service and a variety of clubs and organizations in Whitewright and Trenton. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by daughter, Diane Vestal Williams and husband Richard of Trenton; daughter, Susan Vestal Perkins and husband David of Trenton; daughter, Shannon Vestal Meyer and husband Robert of Whitewright; grandchildren: Lance Williams and wife Amy, Dustin Williams and wife Natalie, Danielle Tyndell and husband Blake, Callie Perkins, Addison Williams and wife Keshia, Derek Meyer and wife Taylor, Alexander Meyer and wife Keely, and Jackson Meyer; great-grandchildren: Emerson, Lexington, Trinity, Lincoln, Addilyn, and Kason Williams; Ellie, Josie, and Deacon Tyndell, Luke, Reed, Walter, Harriet and Lillian Meyer; sister, Doris Pinion of Cedar Creek Lake; sister-in-law Lorene Adair of Wills Point, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvin, parents; siblings Don and John Adair, and Ruth Ann Pierce.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 201 W Maple Street, Whitewright, Texas 75491. Officiating the service will be Mr. Frazier Conley and her eight grandchildren. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Lance Williams, Dustin Williams, Addison Williams, Derek Meyer, Alexander Meyer and Jackson Meyer. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 6-8 pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
