Lynne Elizabeth Broadway peacefully passed away at home on January 6, 2024. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she was ushered into the arms of Jesus.

Lynne was born on April 8, 1960. She was raised by loving parents, Billy and Joanne Grimes, of Leonard, TX alongside her older sister, Laura, and was a graduate of Leonard High School class of 1978.

After graduating high school, Lynne attended the University of Texas at Austin and went to nursing school at Texas Women’s University where she graduated with a bachelor of science in nursing in 1983. Upon graduating, Lynne worked as a registered nurse in obstetrics for 20 years before retiring to be a homemaker and to raise her children.

Lynne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a deep love of the Lord and His word. She faithfully served through teaching, leading bible studies in her home and at church, and mentoring women. Lynne loved to host people and was an excellent cook. She was a wonderful artist, and expressed her creativity through painting, quilting, and crafting.

Lynne is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Broadway; loving son, John Broadway, Jr.; loving daughters, Elizabeth Gilbert and her husband, Max, and Caroline Mae and her husband, Michael; precious granddaughters Lily, Felicity, and Sophie; beloved parents Billy and Joanne Grimes; loving sister, Laura Wohl; as well as niece Lauren Jones and her husband Alan Jones.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with service following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at First Melissa Church located at 2101 E Melissa Road, Melissa, TX 75454.
