Lynela Howard Jarjur

Lynela “Lynn” Howard Jarjur passed away on January 9, 2024, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 74. She was born to Everett and Gladys “Lucile” (Naff) Howard on July 21, 1949, in Chanute, Kansas.

Lynn graduated from Wichita North High School, where she was a member of the German Club and Journalism Club.  Following high school, Lynn attended and graduated from The University of Kansas.  During the Vietnam War, she was involved with the peace movement. Lynn was a writer, computer programmer, and a founding member of the Arabic Heritage Society. She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Disciples Christian Church in Plano, Texas.

Lynn is survived by her daughter, Ryma Jarjur and husband Vatché Souvalian; son, Ziad Jarjur; son, Omar Jarjur and wife, Yang You; grandchildren, Levon Souvalian, Natalia Souvalian, Andrei Souvalian, Layla Jarjur, Laura Jarjur, Mikey Rodriguez, and Lucien Rodriguez; brothers, Robert Howard and wife, Dessie; and Ronald Howard and wife, Susan.

She was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Lucile Howard, husband, Salah Jarjur, and sister, Janetta Howard.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 19, 2024, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Lynela’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/lynela-howard-jarjur.  After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, January 18, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
