Lynda Sue McMillan

Lynda Sue (Chandler) McMillan, a resident of Legend Healthcare Facility of Euless, Texas, passed away on November 13, 2016 at the age of 62.  She was born on February 9, 1954 in Portland, Maine.  She was adopted on May 6, 1954 by Charles and Sue (Looney) Chandler.  Lynda mostly grew up in New England and graduated from Cleburne, Texas High School.  She became a Christian at the age of eight and began teaching Sunday school at age 12.  Lynda was a member of the Church of Christ.   She was plagued with a debilitating illness that lasted over 40 years, the last 20 years confined to a nursing facility.  She was an excellent secretary at Frito Lay and Texas Rangers.

Lynda is survived by her son, Bryan Owens and wife, Alisha; daughter, Lanita Wood and husband, Anthony all of Euless, Texas; father, Charles Chandler of Farmersville, Texas; sisters, LaRue Brewer and husband, Keith of Arlington, Texas, Lesa Pearsall of Lowell, North Carolina; brother, Charles Paul Chandler and wife, Lisa of Rowlett, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue Chandler.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at the Farmersville Church of Christ in Farmersville, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service. 

Memorial remembrances can be sent to Gander Brook Christian Camp (in Maine), for a new dormitory and retreat center at P.O. Box 1423, Littleton, MA.  01460.   Gander Brook Christian Camp was a very special place to Lynda as she grew up.
