Lyle C. DeCuir

Lyle C. DeCuir, age 82, of The Colony, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2016. He was born September 24, 1934 in Inglewood, California to Leopaul Clifton and Doris Nadez (Nereaux) DeCuir. Lyle proudly served his country as a Master Sergeant in the National Guard with the 132nd Engineers Battalion in Torrance California. In 1957, he served active duty in the US Army as the fire control section chief with an 8" Howitzer Battalion while stationed near Seoul, Korea. He graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles, California and then received his Associates Degree from Los Angeles Harbor Junior College. Lyle was a very active member of the Torrance Junior Members of Commerce until 1976, when he moved from the Los Angeles area. He was employed by Mobil Oil as an Area Specialist for thirty nine years. In retirement he enjoyed his time as a member of the Mobil-Ex Group of Dallas. Later in life he joined The Barbershop Harmony Society where he was an active member of The Big "D" Chorus Chapter.

He is survived by his children, Jon DeCuir of Redondo Beach, California, Marla DeCuir of The Colony, Texas, David DeCuir of Frisco, Texas; and grandson, Joshua Duncan-DeCuir of The Colony, Texas.

Lyle is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Howie DeCuir; parents, Paul and Doris DeCuir; as well as his brother, Darryl DeCuir.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
