Lydia Martinez of Allen, Texas passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 62. Lydia was born on February 4, 1960 to Guadalupe Martinez and Anita (Acosta) Martinez in Lovington, New Mexico. Lydia grew up in Roswell, New Mexico and graduated from Goddard High School in 1978. She worked as a florist for 30 years for the flower shop in Roswell, New Mexico and then worked for Tom Thumb as the floral manager after moving to Texas. In 1982, Lydia married Jeffrey English in San Antonio, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, sitting by the pool and most of all spending time with her family. Lydia was of Catholic faith.
Lydia is survived by her children, Lori Young and husband, Tyler of Allen, Texas and Alex English and wife, Lita of Melissa, Texas; grandchildren, Sallie Young, Sterling Young, Lily English and Genio Padilla; brother and sisters, Gloria Ramirez and husband, Antonio of St. Paul, Minnesota, Carol Vallejos and husband, Tommy of Clarksville, Tennessee, Priscilla Salcido and husband, Vincent of Roswell, New Mexico, and Armando Meraz of Albuquerque, New Mexico; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Anita Martinez; husband, Jeffery English; son, Eugene Perez; brothers, Ricky Martinez and Robert Martinez.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
