Luther Alan Smith, age 44, of Lindale, Texas passed away November 3, 2009. He was born February 20, 1965 in Garland, Texas to Luther Lee Smith, Jr. and Betty Jean (Davidson) Smith. He is survived by his mother, Betty Smith of Lindale, Texas; son, Shane Smith of Lindale, Texas; brother, David Smith and wife, Carol of Princeton, Texas and a host of other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Lee Smith, Jr.; grandparents, Luther and Betty Smith, Lewis Davidson and Vena Davidson Johnson; step-father, Lloyd Griffith, Jr. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Clear Lake Cemetery, Lavon, Texas........................................... Love Letter about My Son: Alan was called to Heaven on 11/04/09, after a brief illness. Leaving a son, brother, and mother. He wrote many times about being ready to meet Jesus face to face.
