IN LOVING MEMORY

Luis Alberto Crespo

Sep 24 1953 - May 24 2025

Luis Alberto Crespo, age 71, passed away May 24, 2025, in Allen, Texas. He was born on September 24, 1953, in Córdoba, Argentina, to his loving parents Luis Alberto Crespo Cossio and Amelia Allende Posse.

Luis grew up in Córdoba, Argentina. He was the eldest of 11 siblings. His father died when Luis was only 14 years old. This sudden loss had a profound impact on him. His mother became a true materfamilias. His maternal grandfather became a new role model and paternal figure for him.

He studied to become an accountant, but since the early ‘70s he mostly worked as systems analyst and administrator in large-scale projects. In 1978 he got married with Beatriz Mothe, the mother of his two children, Santiago José and María Inés.

In the early ‘90s, he married Gertrudis Martínez Basterreix. From that time onwards his work as an entrepreneur slowly became more than side projects.

In the mid ‘90s, he met Silvia Silvestri. She would become the woman he spent his life with, a loving and patient wife. In 2003, when they moved to the United States in search of new opportunities and challenges, he became a full-time entrepreneur, staying involved as project manager in various international ventures.

The tragic death of his son, Santiago, in 2012 brought endless grief to him. To him, Santiago was a son, a collaborator, perhaps the person he was ever closest to. Silvia’s passing in 2023 left him in solitude, one that he thought he could not bear. And indeed, it was not bearable for him.

Those who knew Luis often described him as a difficult yet loving person—someone who could be stubborn at times, but whose loyalty and care ran deep. He was generous and had a sense of humor that allowed to make strong bonds in spite of his often unstable temper.

Luis is survived by his daughter, María Inés Crespo, who lives in Paris with her husband Stéphane Airiau, and by many loving friends, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews who will cherish his memory.

A Remembrance Gathering will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
