Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert E. Kinne took his final flight on July 28, 2014. Born in Lake Side, MO on February 17, 1933 to Jessie and Josephine Kinne, he grew up in Goodrich, TX. Robert graduated from Goodrich High School in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1952. While serving at Luke Air Force Base in San Antonio, he met his lovely bride, Gloria, and they were married in 1955. He served in the Air Force until 1973 when he retired, receiving three Distinguished Flying Cross citations, three Air Medals, and the Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War. Robert loved flying and continued with a career in aviation until 2009.
Robert leaves behind two daughters, Michelle Workman of Plano, TX and Jennifer Kinne of McKinney, Texas; two grandsons, Jeremy Workman of Wylie, TX and Michael Fox of McKinney, TX; and one great-grand daughter, Andie Workman also of Wylie, TX.
Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 2801 Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney, TX 75050, beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 2, 2014. He will be laid to rest following the service at the Turrentine Jackson Morrow Ridgeview Memorial Park located at 2525 Central Expy N, Allen, TX 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
