IN LOVING MEMORY

Louise Freeman

Jan 25 1937 - Nov 15 2022

Louise Freeman of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 15, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born on January 25, 1937 to Fred Wells and Thelma Louise (Sawyer) Wilson in Stephens, Arkansas. She married Mike Freeman on August 21, 1955 in Stephens, Arkansas. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of McKinney Texas.

Louise, lovingly known to friends and family as “Lightening”, from her days on the basketball court, married the love of her life as an 18-year-old bride. Just a short year later they welcomed the first of three girls and were off to experience great adventures as they moved to Colorado and ultimately settled in Texas. The young mother from Arkansas, who never learned to drive on the slick snowy roads of Colorado, soon found herself in the warm Texas sunshine and ultimately closer to her Arkansas roots. Louise spent many happy days as a beautician where she built lifelong friendships and made the world just a little more beautiful.

Louise was a loving grandmother of four who kept a pantry of treats and was always there with scissors for emergency haircuts. She was known to her grandkids as Nana Lou and was no stranger in the toy aisle where she could be seen purchasing barbies, ninja turtles, trains and lots of sparkly baubles and beads.

Louise is survived by her husband, Mike Freeman of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Mary Catherine Jones and husband, Robert of McKinney, Texas, Candace Louise Tisdell of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Carey Elizabeth Haynes and husband, Byron of McKinney, Texas; brother, Dr. Jack Wilson and wife, Joanna of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Tyler Tisdell and wife, Anne of Washington, D.C., Taylor Walker and husband, Patrick of Washington, D.C., Maddie Hobbs and husband, Dominic of McKinney, Texas, and Connor Jones of Houston, Texas; great grandchildren, Mitchel Walker, Ava Walker, Violet Hobbs and numerous other loving family and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lamar Wilson, D.W. Wilson and Billy Ray Wilson.

A celebration of life, for both Mike and Louise, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 315 N. Church St., McKinney, Texas 75069.
