Louis “Lou” K. Bullen, 51, of Allen, Texas, formerly of Utica, New York, passed away on September 22, 2024, after many years fighting numerous health issues.
Lou was born on July 23, 1973, in Utica, to Carolyn R. Bullen. He graduated from Proctor High School and was raised as a member of St. Joseph St. Patrick Church. He was employed for many years at C. Weaver Chevrolet.
Lou is remembered most for his willingness to help someone in need, defending his friends and family as well as the fierce dart competitions and comradery when trust was earned.
Lou cherished his family and friends. He was a loving companion to Laura Pendolf, of Allen, for 15 years (and Pendolf and West families of Texas) and a devoted father to his children, Tyler and Torie Bullen, both of Yorkville, New York. He also had an unbreakable bond with his special little ones, Leanne Pendolf of Allen, Texas, Gavriella and Elena Ullrich of Marcy, New York, daughters of Craig and Kimmie Ullrich, who will forever keep Lou, that simple gruff softie, wrapped around their little fingers.
Lou is survived by his companion, Laura; son, Jason Browne Jr; his children, Tyler and Torie; the mother of his children, Sherry (Turner) Bullen of Yorkville, New York; and his brother, Victor Bullen, of Merrimac, Maine. He also leaves behind several beloved aunts, cousins, and lifelong friends, including his best friend, Robbie Stevens and the Stevens family who he grew up with for many years.
He was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn Bullen, and grandmother, Virginia Mae “Jean” Blum Bullen.
A celebration of Lou’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2201 Oneida Street. Utica, New York 13501.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to American Diabetes Association.
