Louis Aloysius Mallia

Louis A. Mallia, age 86, of Plano, Texas passed away in the Life Care Center of Plano on January 6, 2018 after a brief illness. 

He was born on March 28, 1931 in Valparaíso, Chile, to U.S. Citizen Parents.  The family moved to Panama Canal Zone in 1935, where he graduated from Balboa High School in 1949.  Louis later received his BS and MS Degrees from the University of Omaha, Omaha Nebraska.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 20, 1953 to July 1, 1982 as a career Military Officer, retiring at the rank of Colonel.  Louis had been a resident of Plano, Texas since July 1982. He was member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.

Louis is survived by his brothers, John Mallia of Dothan, Alabama and Thomas Mallia and wife, Janice of Mandeville, Louisiana; two nieces; six nephews; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Mary Mallia; his wife, Ann Mallia; his sister, Mary Mullins; and his nephew, Robert Mullins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5100 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093.
