Louis Allen Lawnicki

Louis A. Lawnicki of McKinney, Texas passed away on March 26, 2018 at the age of 77.  He was born on March 25, 1941 to Casimir and Katherine (Kempczynski) Lawnicki in Chicago, Illinois.  Louis grew up in Chicago where he graduated from Tuley High School in 1959.  He attended trade school where he earned a certificate in auto mechanics.  In December of 1963, Louis was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War until December of 1965.  Upon returning from Vietnam, he married Ludmilla Lucy Mitkal on June 18, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. Louis worked in the automotive trucking industry as a heavy duty truck and trailer mechanic.  He was a devoted and loving husband and father and loved spending time with his grandchildren.  Louis was an active member of Genesis Church in McKinney, Texas where he was a greeter and usher and enjoyed greeting everyone with a warm and friendly smile. He enjoyed vegetable gardening.

Louis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lucy Lawnicki of McKinney, Texas; son, Nick Lawnicki and wife, Jennifer of Rhome, Texas; grandchildren, Abagail Lawnicki, Oscar Lawnicki, Drake Lawnicki and Nathan Lawnicki; brothers and sisters, James Lawnicki and wife, Arlene of Carol Stream, Illinois, Carol Urgo and husband, Charles of Algonquin, Illinois and Christine Lawnicki of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Charles Lawnicki.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Genesis Church, 5780 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
