May 12, 1956 - May 4, 2010

Lou Ann Allen, age 53, of Houston, Texas, passed away May 4, 2010 after battling brain cancer. Lou Ann was born May 12, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert MacKinnon and Wanda Rice. She grew up in the Spring Branch area and graduated from Spring Branch High school. She worked at Gulfstream as an operations manager in the oil industry for many years. She is survived by her son, Tyler Guidry and wife, Hannah; daughter, Andrea Collins and husband, Shane; grandchildren, Gabe and Chase Collins, Coppelia and Estee Guidry; father, Robert MacKinnon; sister, Tena Buzek; brother, Daryl MacKinnon. She was the most selfless and patient woman. She was genuine and accepting. She was upbeat, outgoing and had a great sense of humor that made people naturally gravitate to her and want to be around her. All who were fortunate to know her agree there was something special about her. She was the definition of unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren were her life. She was more than a mother she was our biggest fan and encouraged us through life. She will be missed more than words can describe, but we have peace knowing she is with her Savior. She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Rice. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Dr. in Houston. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to DePelchin Children's Home, www.depelchin.org.
