Lorraine Mae Ramquist McKissick

Lorraine Mae (Luckow) Ramquist McKissick of Melbourne, Florida passed away on March 4, 2020 at the age of 90. She was born on May 28, 1929 to Henry Luckow and Edith (Johnson) Luckow in Belvidere, Illinois. Lorraine grew up in Belvidere along with 8 brothers and sisters. She married Raymond B. Ramquist on September 27, 1947. The newlyweds moved to Beloit, Wisconsin where they had 2 children, Jan Larae and Rad Rudy. In 1954, they moved from Beloit to McKinney, Texas, where she worked for specialty foods for 28 years. Her husband, Ray passed away in 1978.

Lorraine married Charles B. McKissick on February 17, 1981. After Charles passed away in 1995, she continued to live in McKinney. In 2002, she moved to Lake Kiowa, Texas to live closer to her daughter. When her daughter moved to Melbourne, Florida in 2018, she followed. Lorraine moved into Victoria Landing Assisted Living, where she was living when she passed away.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Jan Todd and husband, George Todd of Melbourne, Florida; son, Rad Ramquist and wife, Cheryl of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren,  Kim Wisdom Shewbirt of Collinsville, Texas, Ronda Wisdom Grier of McKinney, Texas and Raymond Conrad Ramquist of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, Sheridan Shewbirt Riddle and husband, Cody of Collinsville, Texas, Austin Drake Grier of McKinney, Texas, Collyn Wayne Shewbirt of Collinsville, Texas and Bryleah Rae Grier of McKinney, Texas; great-great-grandchild, Westlynn Dawn Riddle of Collinsville, Texas; sisters, Betty Hoagfeldt, Shirley Falkenstein, Bonnie Shattuck, and Peggy Wolf all of Belvidere, Illinois.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edith Luckow, sister, Donna Whalen; brothers, Lloyd Luckow, Kenny Luckow and Gordy Luckow; grandson, Christopher Blake Ramquist.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment is to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
