Lorraine (Smith) Gratchen, age 92, of Frisco, Texas, formerly of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 19, 2017. She was born in Bulger, Pennsylvania, on August 12, 1925, to Enos and Virginia (Darras) Smith. On August 18, 1946, Lorraine married Joseph F. Gratchen in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
Lorraine was a homemaker and retired from the Ellwood City Borough. She enjoyed line dancing, travelling, playing cards with her family and friends and participating in the Red Hat Society in both Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, and Frisco Lakes, Texas. Lorraine was a devout Catholic and a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Christian Mothers of St. Agatha Church in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.
Lorraine is survived by her sons, Tim Gratchen and his wife, Dixie, of Frisco, Texas, and Mark Gratchen of Berwyn Heights, Maryland; her grandchildren, Megan Sheahan and her husband, Brent, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ryan Gratchen of Columbus, Ohio; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah, Abigail and Tyler Sheahan of Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Gratchen, and her brothers, Charles Smith and Jay Smith.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 303 King Road, Frisco, Texas. An inurnment will be held at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, at a later date.
