IN LOVING MEMORY

Lorraine Darrow

Oct 20 1935 - May 18 2024

Lorraine Darrow, born Lorraine Santucci in Boston, Massachusetts in 1935, graduated from Newton High School in the class of '53 and later received an Interior Design degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She worked as a stewardess with American Airlines, where she met and married Don Darrow. They lived in St. Charles and later in Geneva, Illinois, raising three sons: Doug, Mark, and Todd. Lorraine was blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She began her design career with the design firm of Elton Breckenridge in Chicago and after eight years started her own firm in 1974, called Darrow Interiors. Darrow Interiors focused primarily on creating residential spaces while also doing extensive commercial design, most notably various banks and office locations in Chicago designed by architect Helmut Jahn.

Later she moved to the Seattle area to be near family and worked with the Mason Furniture company. Looking for better weather, she brought her talents to Casa Dorinda in Santa Barbara. Lorraine spent her final years in Frisco, Texas near her oldest son Doug and his family. Fondly remembered as a wonderful entertainer, decorator, and master cook, Lorraine leaves behind a legacy of warmth creativity and style.
