Lois Mae Minchey Sims (Mamaw), 79, of Whitewright, Texas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. Mamaw was a Godly woman who completed her work for the Lord on May 9, 2021. Lois was born in Leonard, Texas on July 12, 1941. She is the daughter of Charles Hughie and Maggie Malverta Shaffer Minchey. Lois Mae was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Charles & James Minchey, and her daughter, Melody.

Lois is survived by her husband, Charles ‘Chuck’ D. Sims of 23 years, her three daughters: Carla Wright and husband, Dale, of Whitewright, Texas, Pam Blackburn and fiancé, Mike Tillinghast, of Poetry, Texas, and Christi Williams of Denison, her two sons: Doug Blackburn and wife, Cindy, of Bells, Texas, and Darrell Blackburn and wife, Wendy, of Leonard, Texas. As well as thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and Lois’ two sisters: Frances Estes of Abilene, Texas, and Sue Richerson and her husband, Billy, of Allen, Texas. Brother Ray Minchey and wife Alene of Leonard Texas.

Lois Mae and Chuck Sims were married in 1998 and created a life full of love for each other and their family. Together they shared 11 children, 35 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. During her time on Earth, Mamaw enjoyed laying on the beach, traveling, sitting on the front porch, spending time with her family, walking down every aisle of Walmart and Sam’s. Lois Mae was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. As her health declined, she often repeated how much she loved each and every one-off us and reminded us she was ready to be with Jesus. Lois Sims lived a beautiful life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Lois is well loved by her family, and her church family at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Leonard, where she worshipped.

Viewing ceremony will be at the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Leonard all day,Wednesday, May 12, 2021; visitation with the family will be from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday at the church with burial immediately following at the Leonard Cemetery.
