Lois Marie Franklin of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born on March 1, 1933 to George and Viola (Pollard) Sullivan. Lois was the daughter of a Baptist preacher, or as she would call him later in life, a church planter. Her family spent her childhood moving from town to town in Texas and Oklahoma where he would start a church and once it was thriving, he would move on and start a church in another town. She met her everlasting love, C.T., of course, at church. She was a homemaker until her girls were older. She worked at Texas Instruments for 10 years. After retiring from there she began a catering business which led to opening a flower shop, Franklin’s Flowers in 1977. After her retirement from the floral business she was able to pursue her love of gardening. She was known for her beautiful yard. Her love of children led her to teach Sunday School until she was almost 80 years old. As with everything she did, she spent hours every week studying how she would teach their lesson for the coming Sunday. In her 70s she started a Backyard Bible Club. She wanted every child to know that Jesus loves them. Lois would drive all around McKinney inviting children and giving out brochures. She loved traveling with her friends, especially to go on garden tours. One always knew where she stood on most subjects, she believed her opinion should be shared. She possessed a quick wit and dry sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and her loving family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Franklin Woodard of Ravenna Texas and Peggy Franklin of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Angie Davis and husband, Jeromy, Shawn McPeak and wife, Tracy, Robin Roster, Cassye McPeak, and Marcus Woodard; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, George Sullivan, Jr.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, C.T. Franklin; parents and sister.
