Lloyd Taylor Waters of Plano, Texas passed away September 17, 2021 at the age of 89. He was born on November 11, 1931 to Ernest Waters and Faye (Wootten) Waters in Temple, Texas. Lloyd was a 1949 graduate of Temple High School. He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard. Lloyd married Joyce Fay Fuchs on November 28, 1954 in Temple. Early in his life, he would get up early to do his chores of milking cows and tending to farm. In the 1980’s, Lloyd owned and operated Polar Bear Ashburn’s Ice Cream in Plano which was a popular local place to go with family and friends. He was also the owner and operator of Players Amusements, Inc. in Plano where he was still working until his passing. Lloyd was a very hard-working man who dedicated himself to being a provider of his family. He adored his family; first and foremost, he committed to the love and care of his lifelong love, Joyce.
Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Joyce Fay Waters; daughters, Lori D. Corbin and husband, Marc and Lesa A. Ille and husband, Rick; son-in-law, John Hall Cottrell; all of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Robbie Taylor Ille, Chad Ryan Ille, Joey Michael Ille, Preston Jacob Waters, and Shelby Denee Waters; seven great-grandchildren, Addison, Lauren, Caroline, Jameson, Nolan, Camden, and Crosby; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Faye Waters; daughter, Lynn Waters-Cottrell; and sister, Lois Poteet.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church of Plano, 1500 Jupiter Road, Plano, Texas 75074.
