Lloyd Kenneth Leslie

Lloyd Kenneth Leslie, 77, passed away on July 23, 2024, in Bonham, Texas. He was born in Forrest City, Arkansas on February 5th, 1947. He and brother, Roland, lived at the Methodist Children’s Home in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1953 until Lloyd left in 1963. He married Phyllis Cook in June of 1967, and they had Kenneth. Phyllis died from leukemia in 1984. Lloyd raised Kenneth alone from 1984 to 1992. Lloyd moved to Texas in 1991 and married Debbie Leavitt Leslie in 1992 which gained him 2 bonus children, Crystal Leavitt Key and Bill Leavitt.

Lloyd enjoyed working on old trucks and cars from the 1940’s up to 1980’s. He also enjoyed hanging around Kwic Chec & City Auto telling big “Windies” and picking on any customer who may happen by.

He will be remembered by his wife, Debra Leslie; son, Kenneth Leslie; bonus children, Crystal Leavitt Key and Bill Leavitt; his true pride and joy - his grandchildren (especially “Bug” and “Baby Girl”), Katelynn and Rocky Hernandez, Stevie Key and Brittani Anderson, Zach Leavitt and Emberlynn Leavitt; Lloyd’s great grandchildren, Ryder Hernandez and  Adrienne Hernandez; bonus great grandchildren, Willow Gibbs and Blair Anderson; niece, Ann Marie Leslie-Williams and husband, Rob; nephew, Chris Leslie and wife, Penny; several aunts and cousins; and sister, Mary C. Foust. He was preceded in death by mother, Ethel Leslie Alessi; brother, Sammy Leslie; and brother, Roland Leslie.

A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Kevin McClain will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, July 26, 2024, at the First Methodist Church in Leonard, Texas. A burial at Leonard Cemetery will follow the service. Pallbearers for the service are Matthew “Butch” Morale, Steven Key, Robert Ware, Jerome Hailey, Michael Moore, and Brian Thompson.
