Lloyd J. Warren

Oct 28 1944 - Dec 21 2023

Lloyd Junior Warren, a proud Air Force veteran and longtime resident of Melissa, was surrounded by family as he quietly passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, after struggling the past few years with heart problems.

Lloyd was born on October 28, 1944, and was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Nancy Warren, and his niece Pam Nicholson. He grew up in Suches, Georgia and attended Lincoln High School before enlisting in the Air Force at age 19. Lloyd valued his service highly and attained the rank of Sargent before being honorably discharged at the age of 25. The Air Force honored him with the National Defense Service Medal for active duty during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he moved to Canton, Ohio where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Kent State University. Also, during this time Lloyd met and married his wife of 53 years Margaret Loretta Warren, who survives him. The two were married on September 4, 1970, in Massillon, Ohio at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. After about 8 years of marriage, the couple moved to Texas where they have called home now for almost forty-five years.

Lloyd is also survived by other family members: son, Scott and his wife Debra, son, Matt and his wife Shea, 5 grandchildren – Braxton, Bailey, Berkley, Colby and Kali, and 2 great-grandchildren – Blakeley and Tripp, his sister Lorene Kelly, his 2 nieces Karen Lindsay and Theresa Kelly, and nephew Michael Kelly.

The family has organized a celebration of life to honor Lloyd’s life and military service which will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
