IN LOVING MEMORY

Lisa Jane Braziel

Sep 28 1968 - Jul 23 2023

Lisa Jane Braziel of McKinney, Texas passed away July 23, 2023 at the age of 54. She was born September 28, 1968 in Victorville, California to Orvil Braziel and Gillian (Braziel) Krusing.

Lisa’s greatest gift was her ability to love, and she did it without limits and without hesitation. For 34 years, she gave her heart and soul to Camp Summit (a camp designed to provide disabled adults and children with meaningful and memorable camp experiences), serving in numerous roles including camp counselor, Camp Director, and Director of Camp Operations. She was dedicated to bettering the lives of others and steadfast in living out the camp’s mission. Lisa took the time to know the campers personally; she rejoiced in their successes and enjoyment and was spurred on by their hardships.

When she wasn’t at camp or in the office ensuring “her campers” were well taken care of, she relished time with family and friends, always making everyone feel special. Lisa loved to travel, visiting all 50 states; an avid geocacher, she enjoyed the outdoors; and as a proud Texas Tech alumni, she could often be found cheering on the Red Raiders.

Lisa is survived by her mother, Jill Krusing, and step-father, Raymond Krusing, of McKinney, Texas; brother, Mark Braziel, and wife, Mandy, of Austin, Texas; step-brother, Steve Krusing, and wife, Karen, of Van Alstyne, Texas; step-brother, Mike Krusing, and wife, Jen, of Lubbock, Texas; step-brother, Matt Krusing, and wife, Danielle, of Van Alstyne Texas; step-sister, Kim Gilmore, and husband, Jimbo, of Sherman, Texas; aunt, Jacqueline Preston, and husband, James, of Ipswich, England; uncle, Jimmy Braziel, of Dennison, Texas; uncle, Bob Braziel, and wife, Joan, of Roswell, New Mexico; uncle, Tommy Braziel, and wife, Jeanne, of La Luz, New Mexico; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orvil Richard Braziel; uncle, John White; and nephew, David Hauret.

A mass in celebration of her life will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church 110 St Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071. The service will also be livestreamed at https://www.stgabriel.org/funerals-online.
