IN LOVING MEMORY

Lisa Marie Colon

Nov 18 1976 - Mar 19 2013

Lisa Maria Colon, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on March 19, 2013 at the age of 36.  She was born on November 18, 1976, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, to Ildefonso and Nilsa (Mercardo) Quinones.  On May 22, 2002, Lisa married Ricardo Rey Colon in Freeport, Bahamas.  She grew up in Pompano Beach, Florida.  Lisa's love for the Lord and the Word of God was apparent in everything she did; she constantly made a point to boldly speak the Truth in love to all of those around her; a true ambassador for Christ, a Trophy of Grace.  She was an amazing woman of God; compassionate, caring, always encouraging, and loved with everything she had. Lisa was a fun-loving and vivacious person. Praising God, spending time with her family, dancing, cooking, blogging, encouraging and lifting others up, were just a few of the things that made Lisa so special.  She was an amazing Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt; and Friend to many.  Lisa operated a non-profit ministry called “WeUsedtoBeYou.com”, that provided teenage girls with biblical advice and Christian values.  She was a member of the Covenant Church in McKinney.  We thank God for allowing her the time He did to make an impact on all the lives she touched, and all for His glory.

She is survived by her husband, Rey Colon; children, Ricky Colon, Jazmin Colon, Angelica Carmona, Iliana Colon, Isaiah Colon, Jenna Colon and Jayla Colon all of McKinney, Texas; Grand-daughter, Serenity Nieves of Florida; Father, Ildefonso Quinones and wife Maria of Pompano Beach, Florida; brothers and sisters, Vicky Cruz and husband Carlos of Coconut Creek, Florida, Robert Quinones and wife Lauren of Pompano Beach, Florida, Louis Quinones of Pompano Beach, Florida, Ilde Quinones, Jr. of Pompano Beach, Florida and Sergio Gutirrez of Pompano Beach, Florida; a host of other family and friends.

Lisa is preceded in death by her mother, Nilsa Quinones.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.
