IN LOVING MEMORY

Linda "Theresa" Potter Titus

Dec 27 1964 - May 16 2021

Linda “Theresa” Potter Titus was born December 27, 1964, in Bastrop, Louisiana to the parents Estella Potter and the late John Henry Woods.

At an early age, she joined St. Matthew No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in her life. She attended public schools in Collinston and Bastrop, Louisiana.  Though Theresa became a mother at a very young age and faced all of life’s challenges that came along with single-motherhood with the support of her mother, grandmother and sisters, she was able to persevere.

At the age of 19, Theresa along with her cousins and friends, moved to Dallas, TX in hopes of finding better financial opportunities. Realizing that she had an affinity for working with numbers, she attended Rutledge Business School and gained a certification in Office and Clerical Services.  Theresa has worked for several organizations in their Accounts Receivable departments. Through her different work environments, she developed close relationships that have turned into extended family. For the past 20 years she was a faithful employee at Employbridge, and at the time of her passing, worked there as an Accounts Receivable Manager.

Living in Dallas not only brought her financial opportunity, but also, she found her good fortune in love when she met the love of her life, Tory Anton Titus. They were blessed to have been married 22 years.

Theresa was a listening ear, a prayer warrior, and an advisor—she was always willing to offer advice solicited or unsolicited to everyone.   She had a zest for life and documented that love for life by always taking a selfie—we will never be in shorty supply of photos of her.   Theresa was always looking for ways to improve herself by making healthier lifestyle changes and she encouraged others to do the same. In her brief time with us, she left an unforgettable mark on all who were blessed to have known her.

On Sunday, May 16, 2021 Theresa transitioned this life. She will be especially remembered for her beautiful smile, generous spirit, and her love for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Woods, beloved sister, Angela Denette Potter; grandparents, Shirley Mae Potter and Anna and Lemerl Woods; aunt, Rachel Potter Ellis (Willie); and favorite uncle David Lee Potter.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Tory Anton Titus of Dallas, Texas; three sons, Deunta Potter and Wendell Henderson, both of Garland, Texas and Darrius Potter of Lawton, Oklahoma; mother, Estella Potter of Garland, Texas; two sisters, Carma LaTonya Potter of Garland, Texas and Monica Woods of Oakland, California; two brothers, Kevin Glenn Potter (Viveca) of Dallas, Texas and Anthony Woods (Liz) of Antioch, California; one step-daughter, LaShella Sanders (Darrell); mother-in-law, Mrs. Doris Hervey (Clyde) of Minneola, Texas; sister-in-law, Tonja Daniels-Otusi of Little Elm, Texas; brother-in-law, Robert Burroughs of Dallas, Texas; eight grand-children, Kavion Dismuke, Javorian Potter, Jaylen Potter, Ariana Potter, Dakari Potter, Daylen Potter, Kaylin Sanders and Alise Sanders; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of nieces and nephews, and close family friends that she dearly loved.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2021, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
