IN LOVING MEMORY

Linda Cheryl Hannon

May 20 1956 - May 30 2022

Born May 20, 1956, in Hammond, Indiana to Allen Hannon Sr. and Georgia Anna Hannon.  At an early age, Linda confessed and accepted Christ in her life.  She was a graduate of Hammond Tech High school class of 1976.  While at Hammond Tech High School she developed a work ethic, Linda joined Hammond Tech student work program, and was employed with Sears Roebuck & Company as a Junior in High School. She attended classes in the morning and worked in the afternoon.

Linda loved to work, a stubbornly dedicated, independent, hardworking leader with a heart of gold. After graduating high school, she continued to work at Sears while attending Purdue University Hammond Campus School of Accounting and Management.  Her love for accounting took her to Chicago, Illinois where she worked as the Accountant for Kagan and Gaines Music Company.  After the company downsized in 1999 Linda relocated to Texas where she worked for Greyhound Lines as a Safety Specialist during the day. In the evenings she worked at HR Block as an Income Tax Practitioner.  In 2018 she became a Senior Income Tax Practitioner with HR Block and continued her employment with them until she transitioned to glory.

On Monday, May 30, 2022, Linda departed this life with her sisters by her side.  She was preceded in death by her parents Allen Hannon, Sr and Georgia Anna Hannon, older sister Georgia Verdine Hannon and younger sister Darlene Hannon.

Linda leaves to cherish her memories two brothers and five sisters, Allen Hannon Jr, Hammond, IN, Della (Milton) Allen, Richardson, TX, Eliza “Pumpkin” (Wallace) McGruder, Hammond, IN, Gerald Charles Hannon Sr, Indianapolis, IN, Martha Hannon, Plano, TX, Anita Gilyard, Hammond, IN & Donna Hannon, Dallas, TX and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and clients.  Linda will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
