Linda Sue Bryant went to be with her Heavenly Father on July 25, 2024, after a valiant fight against cancer. Linda was born November 26, 1948, to Frank and Martha Strouhal in Dallas, Texas. Linda grew up on a farm and graduated in 1967 from Lancaster High School, followed by receiving a degree in education from East Texas State University in 1970. On August 14, 1971, Linda married her soulmate, (Raymond) Padgett Bryant Jr, and to their union were born two sons, Michael (Rachel) and Jay (Darby).
Linda and Padgett made their life between Texas and Oklahoma, retiring in McKinney, Texas to be near to family and friends. Linda worked as an educator, with a brief break to stay home with her boys, for many years in both Texas and Oklahoma, but her favorite job was the job of grandma to her 6 grandchildren- Kira, KK, Mackenzie, Keelee, Macie and Jaxon. After retirement, Linda and Padgett loved traveling, often to see their grandchildren perform in various pursuits. They also enjoyed many trips with her sisters in law, so you never knew where they would be off to next. Linda enjoyed her weekly game of cards with her besties and enjoyed even more chatting with them. Linda was a practicing Baptist and attended the Agape Sunday school class at Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas.
Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years, her two sons, her daughter in laws, 6 grandchildren, her much loved sisters-in-law, Sharon Hardwick, Karen (Harold) Stephens, and Peggy Scribner, brother-in-law Richard Bailey, beloved cousin Douglass Ann Moran, niece Wendy LeSage, and many other dear nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Patricia Bailey, her beloved brothers in law- Bob Hardwick and Avery Scribner, her mother and father-in-law, Mary and Raymond Bryant, Sr. and her nephew Steven Gould.
Linda was loved dearly by all and a hole will always be felt by her loss, we comfort ourselves knowing that she is with her family that preceded her and her Heavenly Father, and is free of the burden of the disease that stole her from us.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love for you to donate in her memory to the Stoney Point Cemetery (P.O. Box 775 Melissa, Texas 75454) or the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
