IN LOVING MEMORY

Linda "Momo" Cheatham

Oct 30 1943 - Mar 29 2026

With full hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the life of Linda Cheatham, fondly known by her family as “Momo.” She was born on October 30, 1943, in McAllen, Texas. Linda lived a life defined by love, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family, friends, and community.

Linda dedicated over 30 years to education, including 26 years at Thomas Elementary and additional years as a substitute teacher, primarily within Plano ISD. She was a proud member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an honorary society for women educators, reflecting her passion for teaching and the lasting impact she had on countless students.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Howell L. Cheatham; her parents, Rex and Helon Anthony of Mira, Louisiana; and her sister, Brenda Kay Green of Palo Pinto, Texas.

She is survived by her loving family, who were truly her greatest joy. Her sister, Kathy Rogers and her husband Aubrey, and her brother, Wayne Anthony and his wife Ronda, carry forward her legacy of love and connection.

Linda was a devoted mother to her daughters, Sheryl Cogswell and her husband, Dr. Max Cogswell, and Susan Etheredge and her husband, Dr. David Etheredge. She was a proud grandmother to Trey Cogswell and his wife Elizabeth, Robert Cogswell and his wife Brooke, Jennifer Cogswell, Elizabeth Etheredge, and Lauren Etheredge. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Cassandra Cogswell.

She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces and extended family, including Emily Eubanks and her husband Deric, Kristen Mungoven and her husband Brian, Shannon Savitch and her husband Ian, Melinda Morgan, Aaron Anthony and his wife Taylor, and Amanda Anthony.

Linda was known for her upbeat spirit and her constant readiness to gather with those she loved. She cherished time spent traveling, golfing, and enjoying life alongside her husband, as well as making memories with friends and family. She had a deep love for her church, Stonebridge United Methodist Church, where her faith and fellowship were an important part of her life. She found joy in simple pleasures—playing bridge, bowling, golfing, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and watching her favorite game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right.

Her warmth, kindness, and joyful presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her. Above all, she treasured her family, who will continue to carry her legacy forward.

Linda went to spend eternity with her Heavenly Father on March 29, 2026, surrounded by her family. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
