IN LOVING MEMORY

Linda Louise Hill

Nov 09 1945 - Jul 20 2024

Linda Louise Hill, 78, of Copeville, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven on July 20, 2024. Linda was born on November 9, 1945, in Dallas, Texas to Josh Dan (J.D.) and Tessie Faye Mayo. She graduated from Community High School and married her high school sweetheart, Mike Green, in 1963. Together they had two daughters, Sherry and Tina.

Linda is a proud member of Community United Methodist Church in Copeville, Texas. She loved her church and her church family. During her career, she worked mostly in the medical field, most notably for Dr. Trimble’s office in Wylie and Dr. Connally’s office in Allen. No matter what job Linda had, she worked diligently, a testament to her strong work ethic that carried through her entire life. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, traveling, shopping at Dillard’s with her beloved “Sissy”, watching “Wheel of Fortune”, reading nightly Bible scriptures, and spending time with her family. Linda was probably most known for her beautiful smile and her kind soul.

Linda met her sweetie pie, Walter Hill, at church of course. They had a very loving marriage for 21 years. Their favorite pastime was battling it out over the remote control. As long as they were side-by-side along with little Snickers, they were happy.

Linda fought cancer not just once but twice: first Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2002, then colorectal cancer in 2024. She was a true warrior and champion in life. She touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Hill, of Copeville, Texas; her daughters Sherry Bratton-McEuen, of Wylie, Texas, and Tina Hughes and her husband, Jimmy, of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren Justin Hughes and his wife, Amber, of Royse City, Texas; Jon Payne and his wife, Dara, of Richardson, Texas; Jarrod Payne of Wylie, Texas; Jordan Hughes and his wife, Reagan, of Caddo Mills, Texas; Lauren Bratton and her fiancée, Cody Smith, of Wylie, Texas; Trevor Bratton and his wife, Shayla, of Wylie, Texas; and Taylor Hughes of Rockwall, Texas, as well as 15 great-grandchildren: Jensen, Gentry, Garrity, Gray, Olivia, Jase, Zoey, Grayson, Tristan, Serenity, Faith, Ollie, Draycen, Kylie, and Lexie. Linda was stepmother to Willard Hill and his wife, Kiesha, of Dustin, Oklahoma; Aaron Hill of Merritt, Texas; and Alisha Rushing and her husband, Nathan, of Farmersville, Texas; nine grandchildren: Peyton, Nate, Aaron Bradley, Caleb, Daniel, Matthew, Luke, Jessica, and B.J. as well as great-grandchildren Teagan, Stetson and Margaret. She is also survived by her sister, Dianna Bright, of Copeville, Texas; and her brother, Don Mayo of Sachse, Texas, along with her nieces and nephews: Beverly Bruce of Wylie, Texas; James Mayo of Belton, Texas; Dean Carrell of Lone Oak, Texas; and Teresa Reece of Wylie, Texas.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Mayo, sister-in-law Alycia Mayo, niece Deanna Cooper, and grandson Austin Payne.

The family will receive guests during a visitation on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Community United Methodist Church in Copeville, Texas. Interment will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
