Linda Lou (maiden name Uland) Birkhead

Linda Lou Birkhead of Farmersville, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024 at the age of 82. She was born August 27, 1942, in Farmersville, Texas, to Jewell (McGrew) Uland and Ethridge (“Ess”) Uland. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young child. She graduated from Farmersville High School in 1960. Linda attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas.

She worked for companies such as State Farm, Lockheed as well as she retired from Weatherford (formerly Trico Industries). She was a very talented seamstress, painter, cook, bible teacher and many more.

Known as “Mammie” to grandchildren and people close to her, she had a heart of servitude. She was committed to missionary work and volunteer work, especially through her home church of First Baptist Church of Greenville, Texas. She was loved by anyone that met her and was very active in keeping her high school class reunions going every year.

Linda is survived by her brother, Franklyn Uland, daughter Ginger Beggs, son Todd Birkhead and her grandchildren, Destiny King, Alecs Beggs, Kenzie (Ben) Solomon, Amanda Beggs (Devin Nazelli), and Alecia (Zak) Kmet and great-grandchildren Karlie Waddell, Addie Waddell, Damon Nazelli, Cameron Kmet and Harrison Nazelli.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ethridge Wain and Mavis Jewell Uland, sister Deanna Brazil and granddaughter Haylie Birkhead. 

Funeral is January 4th at First Baptist Church of Greenville at 2703 Wesley St, Greenville, Texas 75401 at 1:30pm, with a visitation from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, she wanted to help those less fortunate by giving to the church benevolence fund in her honor
